OUR STORY

Artemisia’s Tales was born in my back garden at the midst of the first London lockdown in the spring of 2020.

 

As the weeks unfolded, and the novelties of our new existence started to fade, I searched for ways to be both productive and purposeful. 

 

One day a treasured piece of furniture I had discovered in a second hand store, and that had been resting in a corner of my living room since, grabbed my attention. I began to experiment with the ways I could breathe new life into it, redesigning and invigorating its existing features. 

 

Pre pandemic I was following a career in interior design. I’m a Fine Art graduate with a particular passion for Art history, and have always been drawn to the rich language of aesthetics.

Inspired by an array of different era’s and references – from the Renaissance, Victoriana, and the intricate stories of Greek mythology – indulging in compositions and the narratives of the human form. Searching to reshape the face whilst rekindling the heart. 

 

By the height of summer I had moved into a small studio in Hackney W

ick, a space that would allow me to store and further experiment with new techniques and materials. 

 

This eventually led to my first collection. Every piece is individual, bespoke, hand made and tells a story within itself. They are all second hand or antique pieces selected for their existing beauty, and the ways they could come to life anew.

 

Artemisia’s Tales is the cultivation of my two cherished loves, art and design.

It blends the opulent with the contemporary, infusing a new visual narrative to something we aren’t ready (and shouldn't have to) fall out of love with.
